Fort Agoda was built by the Portuguese to check the influence of the Dutch and the Marathas. Agoda means water in Portuguese. This fort was used to replenish fresh water to ships when it was provisioned. The fort has two segments, the upper one was served as a fort and fresh watering station while the lower part provided as a safe place for Portuguese ships. This fort was also used as jails. The fort also has a four storey light house. The panoramic view from the top of the fort is great.
Fort Agauda is open from from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm.
