Palolem is a beautiful crescent shaped beach with white sand and great views of the horizon. It is a beach facing two headlands. It remains relatively unspoilt and are manly inhabited by local fishermen. This is also a fishing beach. There are accomodations available along the beach.
The fact that it is still unspoilt attracts a lot of tourists especially during the holiday season. There are a few shacks offering excellent sea food, drinks, snacks etc. There are local fishermen who offer to take for Dolphin spotting trips. This beach was picturised beautifully in the Hollywood movie The Bourne Supremacy.
There are many buses available from Margao to Canacona village. Palolem beach is very near to Canacona.
Canacona Railway station is the nearest railway station located on the Konkan Railway. Madgaon railway station is 40 km away from Palolem beach.
