Abbey falls is also known as Abbi falls and is located just 8 km away from Madikeri. It is one of the popular tourist attractions near Madikeri. The monsoon and the post monsoon seasons are the best seasons to visit this place as the water falls will be in its full glory. The falls is located enroute a private plantation. The small trek to reach the falls is worthwhile. A bridge has been erected opposite the falls to give a great view and oppurtunity to take photographs. There are warning signs which warn visitors against climbing the rocks and swimming. At the entrance of Abbe falls, there are many jeeps available which offer a ride to Mandalpatti.
Abbey falls is located in a private property. The water gushes down from a height of 70 ft. A small trek through coffee and cardomom plantations plantations takes us to the falls. The hanging bridge near the falls is an added attraction from where we can get a good view of the falls. The walk to the falls is pleasant experience.
