Balmuri and Edmuri falls are two small waterfalls located near Mysore city. In this area, the Kaveri (Cauvery) river flows across a wide rocky bed causing a mini-waterfall and that's the reason one may not find gushing water here.
These are excellent picnic spots for one-day getaways from monotonous city life. It's usually crowded during summer and a best (and dangerous) place to visit post monsoon.
There is also an ancient Ganesha Temple nearby Balmuri and Edmuri falls which one can visit.
