Bannerghatta National Park occupies an area of 104.27 sq km. It was found in 1972 to conserve and protect wildlife. It is just 22 kilometers away from the Bangalore city. The National Park has a wide variety of Flora and Fauna. The national park is home to wide variety of mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians and insects.
The Bannerghatta Biological park was carved out of the Bannerghatta National Park in 2002. The main aim was to create a biological recreation center for the urban populace. The wildlife park is the home to tigers, lions, elephants, leopard, sloth bear, bison, Sambar etc. Bird collections include Parakeets, Flycatchers, Quails, Thrushes,Wood Peckers, Ibis, Storks, Sunbirds, Flower-Peckers, Eagles, Cuckoos, , Orioles etc. crocodiles, tortoise, python, rat snake, cobra, krait, viper etc. are some of the reptile attractions.
The zoo boasts of a wide collection of mammals, reptiles and birds. There is also a small museum to showcase special exhibits. The zoo has a reptile park. Snake parks have a great collection of different kinds of snakes including the King Cobra.
It is a wonderful opportunity to observe these beasts in their natural habitat. The tourists are taken in caged vehicles amidst Ragihalli Reserve forest. The landscape is picturous filled with green forests.
Indian Gaur, Black Buck, wild boar, barking deer are some of the species which can be spotted in this safari.
The park houses around 85 bears. The bears are left out of their enclosures for viewing by visitors.
Aquarium has a wide collection of different species of fishes, big and small.
Crocodile park has a wide collection of reptiles.
The museum has a great collection of animal artifacts like Skeletons, Photographs, fossils etc.
The snake park houses different varieties of snakes like King Cobra, Pythons. They have been put in an enclosures ideally resembling their habitats.
The children's park provides ample space for kids to play making it ideal for families to relax for sometime. It is an added attraction.
Safari tariffs are as fixed by Governing Council of Zoo authority of Karnataka. There are separate charges for Camera and Video cameras. Do not rely on any middlemen. Buy tickets only at the designated counters.

Route number 365 and V365(air-conditioned) buses travel to Bannerghatta via corporation, Shanthinagar,Dairy Circle and Bannerghatta road.
Route number 366 also travel to Bannerghatta starting from City market. G4 also starts from Brigade road junction to Bannerghatta.
Javadeva Hospital is the easiest point to get to Bannerghatta. it is where the ring road can be joined. There are many buses to this junction from where buses 365,366,368 or G-4 can be taken from the Bannerghatta main road.
The easiest way to reach Bannerghatta is to connect to the Bannerghatta main road. For people connecting from Lalbagh road, take a right on Dairy circle flyover to connect to Bannerghatta road. From there, it is around 22 kilometers to reach Bannerghatta.
