Burude Falls, also known as Illimane Falls, is situated on Siddapur Kumta road. It is at a 20 km from Siddapur. It is one of the popular waterfalls of Karnataka. The waterfall is formed by a small rivulet known as Illimane. The river flows down in five different steps and at each step a separate waterfall is created.
The first step has enough place to accomodate many people and it is from here where we can get a good view of the falls. On the other side of the water fall, steep concrete steps lead down to the base of the waterfalls. During summer, this place is enjoyable because the base can be reached easily and the natural pool created at the base offers a wonderful play area. During monsoons the terrain is quite slippery and the water is dangerous. Hence, the waterfall can be viewed from a distance. There is a trekking trail from Unchalli falls through lush green forests which lead to Burude falls.
