Kodachadri is a beautiful mountain peak covered with lush greenery and dense forests. It is one of the popular trekking trails in Karnataka. Kodachadri is in close proximity to Kollur Mookambika temple. Kodachadri is a part of Mookambika National park and is enriched with flora and fauna. It forms the Shola forest range. Rainfalls are quite common in Kodachadri and it does for around a period of 8 months. Adi Shankara visited this place and performed penance. A small temple is built on the top of Kodachadri called the Sarvajnapeetha. The forests around Kodachadri is dense and is declared a world heritage site.
Kodachadri is a popular trekking spot and there are various trails which lead to the top. The trekking starts from a place called Nagodi or Nittur. Tents can be pitched on the peak with the permission from the Karnataka Forest department.
Sunset from Kodachadri peak is a wonderful view. The green mountains and the lush greenery along with the patterns of the setting sun is a wonderful experience.
Sarvajnapeetha is a small temple built near the peak of Kodachadri. It is the place where Adi Shankaracharya meditated. Ganesha guha is near Sarvajnapeetha.
A little bit of adventerous trekking of 5 kms from Kodachadri leads to Hindlumane falls.
From Kollur, this falls is 6 km away near Dhalli village.
This waterfall is near Mudur and is 15 km from Kollur at the bottom of Kodachadri. An easy trek leads to the falls.

Continue on State Highway 52 to reach Kodachadri. This route goes through Nelamangala, Yediyur, Chennarayanapatna, Tarikere, Bhadravathi, Thirthahalli to reach Kodachadri.
