Talakaveri is considered the birthplace of the holy river Kaveri. It is located in the Bhagamandala town of Kodagu District of Karnataka. This place has religious significance associated to it. There are two temples, one dedicated to Lord Shiva and the other to Lord Ganesha. The Linga is believed to be established by Sage Agastya. The place turns completely foggy time and again to give a great cold feel. It is a common practise among pilgrims to visit Bhagamandala before visiting Talakaveri.
