Pykara falls is created by Pykara river which originates from the Mukurthi peak. The Pykara waterfalls falls in two sections with height of 55 m and 61 m. The falls is located in the Ooty - Gudalur road. It is a good visit point enroute Ooty.
A small trek from the highway leads to the waterfall. There is a road and pathway laid out till the waterfall making it easy to reach the waterfall. The views during this small trek is good.
The waterfalls amidst the dense forest is a treat to watch. During rainy season, the water is in full force. There are barricades setup along the waterfall view point for the safety of the tourists.
Pykara falls is just 22 km from Ooty. From Ooty, connect to Woodcock road. Turn left towards National Highway 67. Move along this road to find Pykara falls.
